La Costa de la Luz (the Coast of Light, also known as the "forgotten coast") is the name of the southern spanish coastline on the atlantic ocean that corresponds to the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz.
Located between the famous Costa del SOL on the Mediterranean and the Algarve coast in Portugal, it is a growing destination for sun and beach holidays due to its nearly unspoiled beaches and not being too massified yet. There is hardly any massive construction done and you can still taste that authentic andalusian atmosphere in it's many small and pitoresque towns like: Sanlucar de Barrameda, el Puerto de Santa MarÃa, Conil de la Frontera, Vejer de la Frontera, Zahara de los Atunes or Tarifa (the surfing capital of Europe). Even Cadiz-city, capital of the province and main reference of Costa de Luz has not been invaded by uncontrolled building.
La Costa de la Luz is easily reachable from Jerez airport and Seville airport.
